Wow, hard to believe we are about one week away from Winter Break. We have been in school over 70 days, and we sure have learned a lot. Thank you to all my parents who attended conferences. I am so thankful to be working with you all to ensure your child is successful at school. We really do have a fantastic TEAM here at Nate Mack... and that includes all of you!
Next week will be a busy one. The following is the list of the "Spirit Day" themes, if your child would like to participate.
Monday- Jingle Bell Day
Tuesday- Santa Hat Day
Wednesday- Candy Cane Day
Thursday- Present/Gift Day
Friday- Reindeer Day
We will also go "shopping" at the Santa Shop (provided by the PTO) at the end of the day (around 1:45) on Tuesday. Items are priced under $2.00. If you would like your child to purchase a gift or two on Tuesday, please send the money in an envelope with a list of who he/she should shop for. For those that do not want to bring in any money to shop, I will be providing $2.00 per child to have the experience of shopping for someone else and experience the joy of giving.
Next week we will be focusing on holiday traditions (from here in the U.S. as well as places around the world). During class on Wednesday, we will be making latkes (potato pancakes) to celebrate Hanukkah.
Friday will be a VERY fun-packed day. We will be doing some holiday crafts as well a sharing in some holiday treats. If you have a special holiday tradition or food that you would like your child share with the class, please send it in on Friday. At 1:30, we will participate in the school holiday sing-along. Families are welcome to join in this festive event.
We hope you all have a terrific, joyful winter break. Stay healthy and safe! We look forward to seeing you in the new year.
Happy Holidays and Happy 2015!
Jana, Karen and Sally
